How often is this name spoken by those who believe they have recognised something. Indeed, the time shall come when it will be spread abroad over the whole earth.

Prophecies which tell of God’s Mercies, yet also of His unbending Justice, will then be fulfilled. Already for hundreds of years men have longed for this time with yearning, with hope, and yet also with anxiety.

However, as it always has been and is with men, they have formed pictures of the future for themselves from the words, which they have interpreted in far too earthly a manner. Pictures which reflected nothing but the outcome of personal wishes, and are thus far removed from any reality in the happening; for in their expectations they contain human demands, which have arisen from false ideas due to over-rating their own value.

Indeed, the basic evil among all earthmen is today, much more than at any time, an over-rating of their own value! And this is the powerful hook on which they are held with great strength by the Darkness, in its recognition of their vanity and weakness, their spiritual indolence and love of ease. The Darkness knew what a poison it had thus cultivated, and how devastating all its effects must eventually become. But above all it also knew how difficult it is to exterminate just such an evil!

Indeed it was this evil that caused the downfall of very many called ones. Called ones, who once jubilantly laid their vow at the Foot of God’s Throne, after their request had been graciously granted to serve here on earth at the present time, in order to help smooth the path of the Light, which in any case could not be easy for It.

And on account of this evil many of them became opponents filled with hatred, because in their earthly expectations they had imagined something quite different from joyful activity.

They wanted to bask in the Light, wanted only to receive gifts and gain earthly benefit from it; for the many-sided and important gifts of the spirit did not satisfy them, because they themselves were meant to bring them to life through their own efforts in serious work.

They had no intention of really working on themselves in the earthly sense, but expected the Light to serve them, if they were prepared to condescend at least to believe in It, or to allow it to pursue Its path, which they had once vowed to smooth, in peace!

And since the kind of fulfilment in accordance with their expectations is impossible within the Laws of Creation, they besmirched and defiled the path of the Light on earth, obstructing it with difficulties of every kind.

But let us leave these unclean things, and speak of the Mountain of Salvation, which is intended to be – and in the end also will be – the starting point, the focus, and the final goal of all earthly fulfilments!

The Mountain is to be the Abode of God here on earth, as has been foretold for hundreds of years in all the prophecies relating to it, as it is also ever again referred to, and as it is to remain throughout the Millennium. It can even remain the Abode of God for as long as the earth exists, if mankind is really willing to live in accordance with the Word.

The Abode of God here on earth! Men, recognise these words in their true meaning, if they are to bring salvation to you!

But today again you have grasped them only according to your idea, not as they are given for you. The Abode of God! Now again you picture something quite different from what it really is because, as the conception forms, personal wishes, unnoticed by you, creep into the mental image you make of the words of promise.

Even you called ones, who are permitted to live on this Mountain, have not yet all allowed the right concept of this to arise within you! In all good faith in yourselves you think you have, but this is not the case. There are only a few who, in their actions and thoughts about this conception, are proceeding along the right path.

The Abode of God here on earth! You think of it as the Mountain, as the place on which God sets His foot in order to pour forth His blessings from here upon all mankind, thereby to help them and through His Power to further, sustain and save them.

In this pleasant state of self-complacency you strut about and bask in the abundant fullness of His Word, which you are permitted to hear every day!

But at best you try and exert yourselves not to spoil these hours. And when here and there you succeed in this, you are well satisfied with yourselves!

But ... unfortunately you succeed only very, very seldom; for the selfish desires are firmly rooted in you; only they are more or less concealed in different individuals. But they always find expression at the wrong moment and in full unimpaired strength, because you offer no resistance to them.

I tell you all this only to help you; for even now warnings are no longer appropriate. It is to help you, and to make you understand the many reactions which will and must now strike you as the result of your selfish desires on the Mountain, with which you very often oppose and hinder the carrying out of the Will of God.

Therefore when suffering forces your souls or bodies down, do not put the blame on others but examine yourselves, and try to realise that the guilt which enforced an interference with your pleasant way of living has been yours, and yours alone!

Led astray by your human nature, you have insisted too obstinately on your own opinions, and hence you have not voluntarily absorbed the necessary new, much less formed it into a deed.

The Mountain must be made the Abode of God on earth!

You have taken this all too lightly. I will give you an illustration of it: You wanted to make of the Mountain an abode for men, in a way that would enable them to live here as comfortably as possible!

Not for God do you prepare an Abode in that way, but only for men! Among those dwelling on the Mountain are some who harbour so many selfish desires that it needs very much patience not to send such people away.

To begin with these selfish desires are not visible at all, and probably no person is fully conscious of them, but in the course of time they do struggle through and become visible on the surface, be it in the matter of food, of lodging, of work or in the relationship between parents and children.

Wishes awaken in some parents concerning school or kindergarten, which are completely out of place here on the Mountain, in view of the fact that everything has to become new, since they are old faults which in the past have led men on to so many wrong paths, and whose effects must now strike them.

Even on the Mountain, parents unhesitatingly place their selfish wishes for their children before all the other things which should be developed into a form here first of all. They are naturally not lacking in self-excuses, which their intellect always sees to only too readily.

Thus here also things are rarely as they should be. Rather, it seems as if everything on the Mountain is to be developed for the sake of men, for men!

But this must not be! Once again man has formed a completely false picture for himself. It is not he who is prepared to serve with his entire being, but he who is to be served, first of all even in earthly matters!

Once more he has gradually turned everything around, and as he is proceeding along the wrong road he is naturally bound to become dissatisfied with so many things – a result which simply cannot be otherwise.

Moreover, in his innermost being he will first attack those who in the fulfilment of their duty are earnestly striving to form everything that is new! He will be nervous and irritable, if not hostile, towards them, because they are not going with him on the same road that he wishes to keep to ... the road of human self-will!

Just as it must not be on the Mountain!

Quite apart from the fact that every called one must exert himself to shape the new, first of all in himself and on himself, and to leave behind him everything that is old; this, always to be expected as the highest of duties, as being self-evident, will more severely and as an absolute demand confront him who wishes to join the Mountain community, in order to fulfil the task of establishing an Abode of God on the Mountain!

An Abode, a place where nothing whatever should be able to swing but the will to serve God, and to make this volition a deed!

Surely it is quite impossible to think wrongly about this. He who can still form mistaken ideas about it has not yet grasped the whole at all.

He thereby eliminates himself automatically, as it is with every failure in Creation!

No one has been left in doubt; but nevertheless examine yourselves, you will see that there are not many who really act according to what is willed, or still think of it at all!

Certainly there are some who strive with great earnestness! And these few uphold the entire structure, while the others stand aloof. And just these few who strive not only to live and work in the right way themselves, but even try to supplement where the others fail, these few are felt as a burden, and criticised for not acting aright by those who do not swing in harmony!

Yes, some there are who stand aright, act aright, but not many!

No doubt, in accordance with human nature, each one now thinks that just he himself belongs to those! Better not to think so! On the contrary, much better to think that you do not count among the few! For it is a peculiarity of those who are not standing aright, and who cling to the old, always to think the best of themselves and to declare others to be at fault.

I say to you, it will probably go hard with these people, and everything they have placed before genuine serving will be taken from them; for it has hindered the true self-adjustment.

You who have sought to surround yourselves with selfish desires, partly out of love that is not genuine love but only self-love, selfishness or sentimentality, as it may be called in human terms – partly out of long-cherished habit, or following the distorted intellectual urge, be on your guard; for retribution will overtake you and your weaknesses, which you refused to lay aside! It will now cause you more pain than your voluntary self-conquest could temporarily have brought you.

You have not yet nearly recognised the full magnitude of the happening, and its tremendous seriousness, much less grasped it.

He who is permitted to live on the Mountain, which is to become an Abode of God, must first make quite clear to himself what are the duties he undertakes in being permitted to live there! So also must any one who longs to come to the Mountain in the future. To see clearly in this matter is of such importance as you do not seem at all to realise; for otherwise you would he different in everything you think and do!

He who lives on the Mountain has as the essence of his earthly existence the duty to follow and completely to fulfil this urge – that all his thinking, striving and doing, indeed his entire life may yet serve one purpose alone: To honour God in all things, and to perform everything solely to the glory of God!

Every turn of the spade, every manual task, every word must become transformed into a song of praise for God’s inconceivable Love. Indeed not a single thought must be otherwise!

You have done the opposite to this; you have always dragged down to a petty earthly level what is sublime and great, which is given to you as a blessing!

Being permitted to live on the Mountain is itself the fulfilment of your petition, and a Grace of which today you have not yet become aware at all; for otherwise you would cease to oppress other inhabitants with your petty personal wishes.

You know nothing of all the gifts bestowed upon you daily, because so often you cannot see them with your earthly eyes and grasp them with your hands.

I could quote countless instances to prove that you have in fact no idea of how things really should and must be, if you want to prepare the Abode of God here on earth properly.

You must sanctify the Abode through the conduct of your entire life! You yourselves, in everything you think and do! And as for him who remains idle in this – as happens so often every day – his faults will be counted double against him, because, to make his fulfilment easier, blessings of a high order were bestowed on him, which he is meant to develop for the welfare of mankind, but not to use to gain as many advantages as possible for himself and for those around him, and what in his opinion is a pleasant life.

Everyone must undergo a complete change, and in my desire to help you I gave you various opportunities for this – also of an earthly nature – either in community meals or in other community matters!

The arrangements were not intended for comfort, but for the easier renewal of the individual through community life! Meticulously calculated and formed in such a way as can make the renewal easier for men!

However, instead of gratefully accepting the help and recognising it as such, instead of forming and developing themselves, and ascending from one uniform level, instead of unfolding to understand those whose nature had hitherto remained alien to them – instead of all this, there soon arose once more personal desires of various kinds, in the shape of complaints or requests, if not even of demands. In short, everything was valued for the increasing of human comfort and its possible cheapening, but it was not applied to the necessary self-discipline!

Again and again everything was to revolve around the earthly welfare of the individual, here, on the Mountain of Salvation, where the called ones among men, that is the already uplifted ones, are to prepare an Abode for God through an exemplary way of life.

You can see for yourselves how the meaning was partly distorted, while at the same time the Abode, which absolutely must become, and should already now be, the purest on this earth, was warped and clouded, once more poisoned by the rising of personal desires and self-will!

In such conditions the Mountain cannot become the starting-point and model for all earthly activities! However, it will be fulfilled, even if its opponents, through the reciprocal action of their false volition and wrongdoing, cut themselves off and have to leave the Mountain.

Consider: I serve among you and with you all, in order to attain fulfilment.

I serve God the Father with all that I am! It is in this way that you must regard my earthly life and myself! You must not make an idol of me; for that would be wrong and would only hinder and oppress me!

All my activity is nothing else but serving! Why will you not also do the same?

Besides, giving up old habits and wrong conceptions is not even a sacrifice on your part, but is only for your own welfare and spiritual gain!

Why do you not heed the helping Hand of Love?

The Hand that offers you a support, that seeks to facilitate the maturing of your spirit, through all that has been established! But you take this only as earthly-physical help, which you therefore want to subject to the criticism of your intellect!

Foolish ones, how much have you already lost therewith, and how much more difficult have you again made your path!

But now it will soon also overtake you! I shall not try to stave this off. Rather, I shall gratefully welcome the time when those who remain will at last, in purest joy and in humble zeal, prepare that for which they were long ago called: The Abode of God here on earth! On soil which through their exemplary earthly lives they hallow by serving!

You serve not only with your work, but also with your way of living in your family circle, how you behave when you are together, in your meetings, and at other gatherings. In short, you serve in and with everything you think and do!

Always remember one thing: You serve God, not yourselves or those you choose to love!

One counsel yet should be given to you for the time that lies ahead, so that you may see where you are still lacking:

The living, serving love, the genuine loyalty that thinks mostly of others, the desire to help and to forget self – these are the things that you still lack in the community life on the Mountain.

Looking neither to right nor to left, craving neither what is more beautiful nor more comfortable, desiring neither high honours nor exceptional positions – such must be the garment of those who wish to live on the Mountain.

 

Adorn your souls with clean garments now, you men, for you are to celebrate Pentecost! He who is unable to do so will be numbered among the spiritually dead.

You experience Pentecost on the Day of the Holy Dove!

As through the fresh growth of the perpetually active Nature, the earth shines forth ever again in youthful attire, thus testifying to the Love of its Creator, and to the untiring readiness to transform every blessing without hesitation into a deed; so must you also, with constant vigilance, gratefully make use of the blessings of Creation, that in maturing you may bring to full bloom such precious gifts of God as lie in the abilities of your spirits.

Awake, you sleeping ones! Thus do joy as well as sorrow call to you unceasingly. This hastening through your earthly existence is spiritual slumber, and not that watchfulness and that life which can lead you upwards in Creation!

You will not advance a single step even with the highest honours, with all the wealth, with all the renown that men on earth offer you, if you harness yourselves to their yoke and therein achieve great things for them, in the delusion that you are thereby giving them something great.

There is nothing great in the world that does not at the same time lead to God, that has not arisen out of gratitude in His Honour. Only in this do greatness and permanence lie! All else sinks into futile transience from the very beginning.

Adorn your souls, you men, for the cosmic time demands it!

But you yourselves must undertake the cleansing of your garments! No one individual can do it for another, and if you really want to remove all the dirt from your garments you must exert every ounce of the strength you are capable of developing.

It is not so easy as people have been accustomed to assume, or as the churches teach! Prayer alone is of no use to you, for you must act. Your whole earthly life must bear witness that you truly wish to create only what is good, using all the abilities with which God has endowed you!

In the Word of Truth I have given you the means for a thorough purification. Make use of it with zeal and diligence!

Through honest work on yourselves much can become easier for you, but nothing can be remitted! Wrench yourselves out of this dream of a Divine Love which, at your begging, will arbitrarily forgive the guilt with which you have burdened yourselves through failure to observe His Holy Laws. Set to work without delay, and seek to save what can yet be saved in you. Do not trouble about others, each one of whom must also carry out the cleansing of their own garments, if it is to be successful.

There is not one person who has already accomplished this, and who may consider himself ready to enter the Kingdom of God that is now to come into existence on earth, as has long been prophesied.

You have already found the way thither, and cannot go wrong so long as you do not depart from the Word.

Think of yourselves, of your faults, which you refer to as mild weaknesses, and seek to prepare yourselves for the exalted Festival of the Holy Dove! Thus adorn yourselves not only with your earthly garments, but through your great volition and longing for the Light let the garments of your spirits radiate in brightest white!

On the Day of the High Festival, the Primordial Light of God will envelop you in its radiance. Strive to absorb as much of it as you are able to; for you will receive only as much as you have opened yourselves to, and no more, even though you are enveloped by it!

But think of the coming Festival with humility, not with earthly ambition or the desire to be called. Many people may imagine that the callings are given arbitrarily, only according to earthly estimation. He who thinks so does not know the value of a calling.

In this I do not choose, but I fulfil! Fulfil what was formerly granted to human spirits at their request, whenever a person who has once asked finds the way with good volition!

For this reason I call, so that what was once graciously granted by the Light may be fulfilled. How that person then adjusts himself to it is his concern alone. He is thereby given a respite, for his development or his downfall.

Thus it can happen that in spite of everything a called one can fall. But many a faint-hearted person thinks that I should know in advance who will fall, and that I should never call those people who are likely to fall.

How limited is your concept of the Light! I tell you again: I fulfil! In these fulfilments, however, lies the driving force for the individuals, permitting them to ascend into life, or forcing them even yet to fall into horror.

Often at the time of the calling I already see an approaching wavering and even falling, but I fulfil! And so, after his request had been granted and he had been faithfully led and prepared over thousands of years for his service at the present time, the fall of the unfaithful one will then be swifter and deeper.

How far you are from comprehending my actions if you seek to weigh them only in an earthly sense.

If I wished to instruct you continually you would only find ever new questions before you have even absorbed what you have been taught, before you really try to reflect thoroughly about it and just live accordingly!

Any such actions on my part would mean the fulfilment of your wishes by working without end – and also without success! I, however, wish to fulfil God’s Will here, and not human wishes!

You will never really understand me in my activities, because they do not arise from the narrow limitations to which earthmen are subject. Therefore do not try to force my actions into the scope of your ability to understand.

Grasp what I give you, but grasp it completely and seek to live accordingly. Through experiencing you will soon come to realise that what I offered you is right.

Do not be like those hungry people who out of greed are forever snapping at food, grabbing at everything in the belief that they may otherwise miss something, and putting aside what they have received in order not to miss the next opportunity, thereby never coming to the point of eating, but in their haste growing steadily weaker and finally actually starving.

Take what you have and make thorough use of it before you again ask for more! And do not behave like fools in this matter.

But besides the explanations I have given you about the callings, there are also human spirits who have at one time crossed the path of Messengers from the Light with evil volition, intending to harm them. Whether this concerned Abd-ru-shin or also Nahome, Maria as Cassandra, or Jesus – each of these persons must now cross my earthly path for the last reckoning! Thus, in accordance with God’s Holy Law of Love, he is once more offered the opportunity to make good the old evil through an honest volition for spiritual ascent.

He has only a short time in which to choose. But if it should happen that I call him, then at the time of the calling he is strongly imbued with the best volition! If he again wavers then his fall is not prevented.

Most of them, however, are still as hostile as ever; but this time they call forth a judgment that takes effect against them. They themselves release it through their renewed evil striving.

Men, what do you know of all this! Nothing! Nor can you expect me to give full explanations in every individual case, just so that you may understand it! And he whom it concerns at any particular time knows quite well what it implies, and moreover he always asks for it.

Be humble and thank the All-Wise, the Almighty, Who granted you the Grace to experience the Cosmic Turning-Point, to live through it in order to be able to co-operate in the great spiritual upbuilding, which is in accordance with the Will of God!

However, do not forget one thing: That to every human spirit there remains the free will to make decisions! There would be no life in it and no free will if it could be foreseen how a human spirit would decide for himself! If you reflect upon this you must yourselves reach the conclusion that it would not be possible to speak of a free will to decide, if a person’s actions could be definitely determined from the beginning.

But spiritually every contingency and probability is foreseen, and then in due course taken into consideration with precautionary measures.

With mankind as a whole, however, it can be exactly indicated. The actions of humanity must take those courses which follow the volition of their strongest part.

In this, too, you are unable to follow me, for you would say that it is different now, because the human will can no longer rule in Creation, since it has already lost what it was heir to.

True, yet nevertheless the permission to decide freely is not taken from him. But the human being who does not make a voluntary decision in accordance with the Will of God will henceforth no longer be permitted to live in Creation; for as a self-conscious creature he is useless.

That is the difference between the past and the future. Being allowed to decide for himself over life and death, to be or not to be, always rests in man’s own hands. A perpetual wavering and considering, as hitherto, will no longer be possible.

Only he will be able to live in the Millennium who submits to the Divine Will. This you do not comprehend either, for it will come about in quite a different way, much more lawfully and more naturally than you think, you who here again seek to apply earthly concepts to it. The Power of God is greater than you imagine, but it produces effects differing from those that you in your childlike way expect. It is no less powerful but embraces everything in its forward drive, pressing relentlessly, crushing only what refuses to adjust itself to it and tries to oppose It.

This is all too vast for human comprehension.

Therefore prepare yourselves with humility for the Festival. On this Day Heaven is open for you! See to it that the Power strikes you with a blessing and strengthens you.

 

It is in you, you bearers of the Cross of the Holy Grail, that these words must first be fulfilled! You must go before the whole of earth's humanity as shining examples in everything that concerns man here on earth.

These words will be fulfilled in you if you yourselves have not already fulfilled them voluntarily! This means that it is not left to your volition to choose when you intend to fulfil them, but that the time has been determined at which you must be ready and prepared to serve mankind in accordance with the Will of God. But only he who has become completely new within and without, and has left behind all the old, can be ready to serve!

With this there is laid upon you the mantle of an enormous responsibility, which shall become an adornment before all the world, but which will weigh down and suffocate whoever was not willing really to leave behind all the old.

You must! In its effect this word is for you something which you cannot yet grasp, because you do not want to grasp it. But it will be hammered into men severely enough yet; for it will crush with adamantine force all that tries to resist or merely bristles up against it.

You have never yet felt the force of the almighty Will of God, because the time for that is beginning only now. And during this time there is no escape from these words which to you are quite new: “You must!”

You will be unable to turn either to the right or to the left as you have done hitherto, but you must submit to Him Who is stronger than you, and through Whom alone you could come into existence at all!

But it is for your salvation, for your happiness! There is no other way for you but to submit humbly and to learn how you have to live in this Creation.

To make this easy for you I gave you the opportunity to learn here on the Mountain.

This was meant to mature you to that swinging together from which there ensues the necessary harmony that furthers all the good in accordance with the Primordial Laws of Creation. It was Love that offered you such opportunities, so that the voluntary swinging in harmony would protect you from much harm.

I offered it to you in love, and have learned much from it – have had to learn much, and have realised with sorrow all that must yet strike mankind, and with what incredible severity, before they become that which within a comparatively short time they must be.

Many of you have tried to cling rigidly to old habits in the community life offered them, which I tried to provide for you as a transitional experience and as a means of maturing for the new time!

You have not in the least grasped the real meaning of what was so freely offered to you, because, as you so often do, you have thought about it too superficially, and moreover you have not placed above your customary human short-sightedness that trust which should long since have come to life within you, and which helps you over such difficulties arising from human weaknesses. I offered you my hand to lift you out of the old!

But always many of you made things difficult for me through your pettiness. You would not grasp the hand I offered you for the transition.

Yet all this was but a means to an end, to give you much help that could have brought you blessings. But you regarded it only as something that was to bring earthly benefits to those partaking of it! That was a great mistake, and it caused you, who thought thus, to lose priceless treasures even at the last moment!

I wished to accustom you gently to the concept of the real “must”, and above all to entering voluntarily into the spirit of it, so that many things might pass you by which will soon have to break down all the rigidity of the human volition, to which you have thoughtlessly become accustomed in your attitude towards the Creator.

Unfortunately I did not succeed with all, but only with those who out of love for the great task yielded to it without grumbling and who were thereby ... enabled to grow inwardly strong and powerful, and also to mature.

They will reap a rich harvest from this, not only spiritual but also earthly.

In others, however, a hidden sullenness arose from time to time because their minds remained filled with purely earthly things. I know this very well, although nobody has spoken to me of it.

They had not recognised my actual intentions because they do not rightly know me yet, though they must surely realise that in certain things I seek to avert trouble for them in time.

It was not possible to have you all swinging in harmony. Therefore I am today countermanding the wishes, which I had previously made known, that you should make use of everything that is offered you up here; for you think that this is exclusively for the benefit of your fellow-men, and not for yours.

Soon all that is old in men, which they have been unable to cast aside of their own accord, will be struck off. And to the old belong some things, indeed many things, that you do not think of as such. Here also you again make it far too easy and convenient for yourselves, as mankind have hitherto always been used to doing.

This time, however, you are mistaken about every hope, even the smallest! Nothing of the old can still slip through, for something higher is involved than man’s rigid self-will, which they have laboriously developed for thousands of years. It will fall with everything belonging to it! And that is much, for indeed it embraces everything which man has hitherto claimed for himself, and it constitutes what is designated as “old”.

The blow comes from the Light! The more firmly a human being clings to this or that, the more convulsively he seeks to clasp it, the more can he himself be hurt by it; for in any case what is wrong must now be severed from him, and within a definitely specified time. There is no more waiting, no lingering, no loving help; because for you the old has passed away!

That is Creation’s Command, it is inherent in the automatic activity of the maturing Creation. But you will unquestionably be struck by it first. It will either strengthen or wound you, exactly as you stand in relation to this Commandment, which has now become a great force in the immutable last fulfilment!

Whoever is not detached through his free volition from all the old that may bind and hinder him in becoming unconditionally new, will be forcibly severed from it, whatever it may be. There is nothing that does not have to fall under this Commandment.

You will experience it yourselves and must not then complain. Whoever is very painfully struck has only himself to blame. And whoever refuses to leave behind the old, whoever keeps himself too firmly linked with it, will finally have to be shattered along with it.

Man can now either be uplifted, free and detached from all that is old, a new human being standing in the Will of God, or he must sink with the old that is passing away.

The old has passed away! Therein lie both judgment and fulfilment. Everything must become new! In this lies compulsion, the “must” hitherto unknown to men, which is now demanded by God!

You cannot penetrate too deeply into the meaning of this. It is a call from me born of my anxiety for you. I know how superficial you are in these matters. In this case, however, it is unpardonable. Therefore pull yourselves together and strive earnestly to understand clearly what lies in these words.

In the first place, this hitherto unknown “must” is the great “new” for man on earth! A Higher Will than his has now been imposed on him in Subsequent Creation, acting directly, compelling. This is something so new that man wants to rebel against it, because hitherto he has been in the habit of acting as he thought fit, under the delusion that he was “lord” of Creation and wore its crown.

This must is really the very core of the new! Because it enforces and brings in its train everything else, the complete transformation of all that exists.

Never yet has it been in this Subsequent Creation as it is now going to be. The meaning of “the old has passed away” is: You human beings are disinherited! Disinherited of the power that was given to you in this Subsequent Creation. For all human beings it is now for the first time: You must! Whereas until now it has been: You should!

Through this alone everything has become new, through this alone everything will now change, everything must be renewed and become different from what it was in the past. That is the position.

I wanted to lead you to it in love, to guide you carefully into this new way of life, so that voluntarily and joyfully you would already receive the right soil within you for the necessary transformation which gratefully submits to the Will of God.

I wanted to let you live through the conversion painlessly, in such a way that it would even bring you joy instead of suffering, if in swinging along voluntarily through becoming knowing you perceive no compulsion, which must weigh heavily on you as soon as in trying to cling to the old you suddenly remember that this mankind has been given free will for its journey.

I say to you, this has been! Mankind have disregarded the duty that goes with the privilege of using the free volition, and everything that was made subject to them therewith has simply been enslaved and misled, under the delusion of a mistaken authority that knows neither the nature nor the scope of its influence!

The entire Subsequent Creation has cried out under the burden of the conceit of man, who has considered himself the centre of every happening, refused to adapt himself to the whole, and as an obstinate creature has interfered with and obstructed everything.

Mankind are deprived of all their power until such time as they joyfully and willingly adapt themselves to the Divinely ordained rhythm in Creation! For only through such adapting can they really become great.

And in the small world up here on the Mountain that I wanted to accustom gently to the new, which has so far been utterly incomprehensible to man, namely that like every other creature he must submit to the Almighty Will of God – even up here the rigidity of their petty obstinacy nevertheless flared up very often; the same kind of rigidity as has had such a destructive and devastating effect upon Subsequent Creation.

The love was not seen, because first self-love raised its head and sought to push its desires for personal advantages into the foreground!

Everyone was willing to accomplish great things. But the small things, out of which alone the great can arise, remained still too hard for many. Man was quite willing to anchor the taproot of his soul in the new soil, but sought to leave many little feeder roots in the old.

But that would never be nor ever become anything healthy, for soon the taproot would thereby become diseased again.

Now I break down the bridge which I had intended to offer you for the new time, so that you would have been able to leave your old habits behind without pain! Of course, you did not intend openly to go against my wishes but, as is man’s habit, you tried to do so in a roundabout way. You silently opposed all those called ones to whom you were to turn for help and advice, with the absurd demand that they should become perfect overnight if they were to find favour in your eyes.

Indeed there are some who from the outset meet with distrust everything that is offered here on the Mountain, or who imagine that they should have special earthly advantages if they are to adapt themselves!

It never entered your mind that all that has been instituted has much higher and for you more precious goals, nor did it occur to you that self-conquest always and above all brings benefit only to him who conquers himself.

Many a one among you has not been willing, or has thought enviously that someone else might reap the benefit of his work! How small, how strangely small does all this appear in comparison with the great things that are offered to him daily and hourly on the Mountain. He wants to bargain over trifles while he is continually showered with immeasurable abundance.

Today I therefore break down this bridge, and you who have hitherto refused to cross it by joyfully adapting yourselves to the swinging, by willingly co-operating with the great, you stand on the other side of what is already partly new, and must now try to leap across the gulf that lies between the old and the new!

But in spite of all efforts, not one will succeed in this without being more or less hurt, according to his inner state at the time. And it is quite possible that he will not reach the new, but will fall into the abyss. I held out my hand in order to help you. Not all of you have grasped it with gratitude.

You will wish to console yourselves by saying that after all these were only trivial things. But not the least of all these trivial things will be allowed over into the new. You must also become accustomed to this; for in the future there will be no more trivial things, only right or wrong. Whether great or small makes no difference, for both disturb the uniform swinging in Creation.

And even if you say to yourselves: “Ah yes, if we had known that this was the point in question we should have joyfully fulfilled everything at all costs, because we have indeed long awaited an opportunity to show our good and great volition in deeds!” then you are wrong.

Genuineness lies in voluntary deeds! This alone is of value for you and can really help and benefit you, if you voluntarily and joyfully try to swing in so as to further the upbuilding!

Had I given you explanations beforehand as to the purpose and meaning of my wishes, and the effects their fulfilment would bring for you, they would not have been of benefit to you. For then your deeds would have been intellectually willed – although with a good will, yet still intellectually. It could not have penetrated your very selves through voluntary action, as a new species of your being, something quite natural in view of all that you have already been permitted to receive in the way of knowledge. It would have been sham, and remained so. But among those up here who have become new everything must be genuine!

Thus through your own deeds and thoughts the genuine always automatically separates itself from the sham, and when the Ray of Judgment comes it will sweep away the sham. It will strike off and destroy it because it still belongs to the old, which must have ceased to exist for you, and which no longer has any place here!

Lamenting and pleading will then be of no avail, for you have brought it all on yourselves. Even the careless or shallow person has only himself to blame, because he has not tried harder to grasp the deep meaning.

With this I had opened for you yet another treasure chest, from which you might have helped yourselves abundantly. Some of you even passed this by scornfully, out of false conceit or also from indolence.

This was probably one of the greatest mistakes they could have made; for thereby they missed much, very much for themselves, and this negligence may still lead to their downfall, because they have consequently remained behind and must now apply a multiple of strength in order painstakingly to recapture at the last moment what they have lost.

In the community life you were often given the opportunity to extend a helping hand to one another, or to help in the general work which is necessary where so many people live together, but which also benefits each individual without exception, whether it be on the roads, agricultural or domestic work.

There was enough to do, and in the voluntary helpfulness for the common good no difference exists between degrees of education, because it is an adornment for every human being, and his dignity will never suffer by it.

On the contrary, the more a human being wishes to be uplifted the more willing he must be to give help of every kind. I offered you invaluable help with these opportunities!

For those who have helped voluntarily – the men with the rough and coarsest tasks, the women with correspondingly lighter occupations – the old strong threads of evil reciprocal actions, dating from former times, could thereby be severed, so that they are free from them at the start, and powerfully and newly linked with threads coming from above, which will hold, further, uplift and strengthen them.

Not only the spirit but also the body has gained thereby! It was freed from many things and much was built up anew; for as you very well know from the Message the great help can only come through movement and activity.

There are already some among you who have been able to experience such things on themselves clearly and visibly, and who are grateful and happy about it.

He who does not wish to help cannot be helped either. Thus not all of you could receive such loving mercies; for there are among you some who, devoid of love through their wrong way of thinking and even through their conceit, have missed one chance after another, or who, to put it bluntly, have shirked any work unless they were forced to do it. Love of ease has also played its great part.

Primarily, however, it is conceit which I have repudiated in my Message as the greatest enemy, and have plainly enough denounced. But it shows itself in ever new forms, and is never recognised as such by those who have enslaved themselves to it.

However, they have already received their reward for this wrong doing; for their spiritual development has fallen far short of what they should really have achieved, because they have held back the greatest possibilities of help. This will now become ever more noticeable and soon it will become clearly recognisable and must show itself.

Moreover there are probably a good many evil threads of karma attached to them which now press for the necessary atonement, because they spurned the opportunity they might have had for an easier symbolical redemption.

Love lay in everything that was offered to you here! There was an abundance of great mercies, a gentle guidance, which now, after the time has passed, I can show you, so that each may yet recognise what he has lost through his human conceit, or what he has already gained through his humility!

I could not have spoken to you of this before, because everything must come out of your own volition if it is to bring you the benefit that lies in it. I merely offer the opportunity and show you the path. Thereafter the decision is yours alone.

Now I have lifted the veil for you. Do not let this experience pass you by unused.

Even today many of you still lack any conception of how seriously, how terribly seriously my call is to be taken, as is each little hint that I have given you, and what invaluable benefit there is for you in many things that you do not even heed.

But one day you will suddenly become aware of it. And then you cannot make up for anything, you can only mourn over the moments that you have let slip away.

With joy I look upon those who have exerted themselves to swing in, and to adapt themselves through conquering their old human nature of the past.

It will now be easier for them to adjust themselves to the new; for in faithful love they have fulfilled, and through their fulfilment everything in them was gently and gradually changed. They have become new themselves, and will stand ready in the hour when the others will sink away with many lamentations!

 

Pentecost! Only a few days ago we celebrated the Festival of the Outpouring of God’s Holy Power into this Creation! It is renewal, preservation, and restoration to health!

The time will yet come when you human beings will grasp what a sacrifice from the Light was needed to save you from certain destruction. Today you still cannot grasp it. It stands far above all human understanding.

But you can thank God the Lord for His inconceivable goodness, which can be recognised daily and hourly throughout your entire existence, if only you honestly try! Your whole life shall therefore become a thanksgiving!

Your whole life a thanksgiving! If you take these words in their usual sense, in the way men think of them, it must become wearisome to give thanks continually; for man pictures a succession of many prayers of thanksgiving.

But that is not what is meant. The most beautiful gratitude is pure joy! If men would live according to the Will of God they could actually find nothing but joy on their wanderings through the Worlds of Matter! That there is also sorrow is the fault of men alone, for sorrow is alien to the Light.

Men have brought about darkness, and with it sorrow, for themselves, and in their rigid obstinacy have become so entangled in it that in the end it has become quite impossible for them any longer to find the paths that could lead them out of it.

Under the wrong influence of men’s will the World of Matter has become not a Paradise but just a maze, out of which no human soul could find its way. Moreover, the faults have multiplied, and their consequences have brought about a great increase in evil volition. The start of every good volition was held fast in the tangled undergrowth of distorted conceptions, and its growth stunted so that it soon had to wither away.

Such was the picture when help from the Light descended into the Worlds of Matter to give final aid to those who have a deep inner longing for it.

But you have pictured it all much too superficially, for men are very strange in this respect. Either they are quick to repudiate everything sent by the Light through conceitedly insisting that they know everything better; or they go to the other extreme, and like those of blind faith expect fantastic impossibilities that lie outside the range of the Divine Laws of Creation.

They are therefore disappointed and even fall again easily into disbelief, when so many things do not happen as they thought they should. They can become as unreasonable in their self-incurred disappointments as they previously were in their blind faith, and they may thus become the greatest enemies of everything which in their opinion has disappointed them. As a result they are capable of doing incredible things, although such actions are completely groundless and childish, utterly unworthy of a human being.

They have no desire to understand that there is a precisely ordered and firmly-knit activity in Creation in accordance with the Will of God, Which is inflexible, but imagine that God can arbitrarily overthrow and change His own Laws therein at any moment. They do not pause to think that with such an attitude they plainly admit their doubt in the Eternal Perfection of God, or their own incredible narrow-mindedness, which can only be called indolence of spirit, or stupidity arising from laziness.

With high-sounding words they try to base their arguments on the fact that in Creation everything is subject to continuous change. This is quite true; but these changes manifest in the logical development and blossoming of what already exists, on the basis of the Laws of Creation, which nevertheless remain inflexible and which have a driving effect, but they themselves never vary. Thus their big words are nothing but empty chatter, utterly illogical and used with careless superficiality.

With such words men scatter immense treasures like children at play, without themselves grasping these values. And that is why they use these words wrongly and give them false interpretations.

They do not see the Truth contained in them, because they read and hear in them only what they wish. in their indolent self-complacency they are not in the least prepared to investigate deeply and make an effort to understand what these words are meant to express, and what indeed they do say plainly enough.

Even among you many still lack the right understanding of this, because after all you still have not penetrated deeply enough into my Message to envisage the Perfection of the Almighty Creator in its fundamental inviolability and immutability, wherein lies the inconceivable greatness in a clear simplicity that the human spirit does not want to realise.

Always base your entire thinking, your investigation and your interpretation of every happening strictly upon the immutability that lies in the perfection of the Divine and self-acting Laws of this Creation. Otherwise you can never advance, and must go astray!

It is therefore appropriate that today especially I should for once lift a corner of the veil that still shrouds the magnitude of the sacrifice which Parsifal made for your redemption and liberation.

You probably think that perhaps His hardest task was His struggle with Lucifer, which ended in the chaining of Lucifer. But that is not so. His most difficult task was to hew paths for you out of the maze that you had cultivated through your errors!

This, of course, is only a part of His work of redemption, but if you try to grasp that, just to some extent as it actually was, then you cannot do other than thank God unceasingly through the life that has been granted you.

Just envisage it for once: Issuing from the Light, and taking upon Himself all the hardships of a journey into the dense Worlds of Matter, Parsifal came to this earthly globe, which had sunk so deeply through the guilt of man.

He, coming from the Light, did not know what faults and sorrow were – although He had already once become acquainted with the hate of men; for the Light knows neither sorrow nor faults. Ignorant of such things, He stood at first in the midst of these human beings and their utterly distorted and wrong concepts. Under the domination of Lucifer everything around Him was wrong, alienated from the Light, and everything was therefore strange and cold to Him, even hostile and ugly.

Now perhaps you once more think that He need only have shown the way to the Luminous Heights in order to give men what they needed for their redemption. You imagine that He had only to proclaim the Word of God as it is!

But men could not have done anything with It, for they were completely entangled in their faults, and no longer able to lift their gaze upwards unless the path thereto was first hewn for them, revealing the way out, through which they could once more behold the Light in all its promise.

Therefore what mattered was how Parsifal brought the Word nearer to mankind! He had to give the Holy Word a form suitable for men in their distress; for they had already received the Word as such through Jesus, but they could no longer bring it to life within them, because they found no way of doing so, and the interpretations of the churches were much too weak, and to some extent false, to be of real help.

The Word! Even you do not yet know how to think aright therein, for like all the others you forget what the Word of which I always speak really is. You know, of course, that it is the Living Word, but you still do not picture It quite aright.

As Jesus once said of the Word: I am the Word! So I say to you today: I give myself to you in my Word!

But if I were to give the Word to mankind without forming it for them, they would not understand me! Impress this on yourselves in flaming letters, for the Word lives, it is Life itself and in Its primordial state it is without a form visible and perceptible to you. It is!

If, however, I wish to make it available to men, which means to form it so that they can understand It, I must transform it from Its original state into one that man can comprehend The form must be given in such a way as is of use to them.

No one can open it up for you in Its full power! That is to say, you would not be able to bear Its full power. Therefore you receive the Word in a form which has been prepared solely for you, you men, and which contains exactly as much power as you need for yourselves, and as you can bear if you are open to it; for without opening yourselves to it you can receive nothing of the power, because your volition, which is equal to a petition for it, is needed for its reception.

How often do you still toy with the Holy Word in your thoughts, without really knowing what you are doing thereby.

How often has it already been called out to these human beings that in crucifying Jesus they nailed the Word to the Cross. But they still continue to crucify the Word, every day anew, by daring to distort it or to interpret it only according to their own will in order to make it subject to certain of their wishes, and subservient in Its effect upon men!

But who considers that such trespasses must bitterly avenge themselves on those who have dared to perpetrate such an evil, and that there can be no forgiveness for it; because the Word which earthmen have already misused in thousands of ways has been the Living Word!

Never forget what the Word is – the Word which you receive in that form which is necessary for you – and accept it as a quickening for your spirit for it is the food it needs, the drink it thirsts for, without which it cannot exist! Do not seek yet again to debase the Word through your earthly intellect! Preserve It so that it cannot be lost to you!

The Word is not the human expressions and sentences I use for It, but it is something by Itself which is intangible to you, and which is able to enter into you through these forms if you open yourselves to It. I only use your expressions and sentences as a kind of channel through which I guide the Living Word to your spirit, which alone is capable of receiving It, so that thus strengthened it can then burst all the fetters of the lurking evil.

Now perhaps it will become clearer to you why it was fundamentally necessary for Parsifal to spend a long earth-life completely unrecognised among men, if they were ever again to be given help through the Word! And only the Word could give the help, because salvation lies solely in the awakening of a human spirit, which must be followed by recognition. The Law of God has provided no other way than this one way of inviolable justice!

Now if Parsifal wished to find a true form for the Word, which could help men on earth, He had in the first place to understand the nature of men themselves, with all its faults and distorted conceptions. He had first to seek the root of all the evil in men in order to discover and to hew out, through the form that He gave to the Word, the ways that must give men real help if they were willing to follow them.

But this He could not do until He had become knowing in all their faults and all their weaknesses!

An Envoy from the Light can never attain to this knowledge by observation or questioning, but only through personal experience, because faults, weaknesses, evil and distortions are actually alien to the Light and will ever remain so. An Envoy from the Light can never understand them.

It was this part of His mission that was the hardest for Parsifal. If He wanted to help, only one thing remained for Him: He had to live for a time as a man among men, unaware of His origin or His Mission; for He could otherwise never have gained the experience!

Not only that, but He also had to come into direct contact with all the faults of this mankind, had to suffer from them personally, so that through this personal suffering He could at least attain to a knowledge of them. He could never reach an understanding, because the distortion of human opinions and human laws had always to remain alien and false to Him, because of His nature and origin. For this reason He was also unable to think or to act in accordance with the erroneous human laws. Although living on this earth He could only carry out the Laws of God, to which many of the legal concepts of an extremely depraved and narrow-minded mankind were frequently hostile.

This naturally meant continual strife, sorrow, and suffering in earthly matters for the Stranger from the Light, Who during the time of His hard and necessary schooling in the arena of Darkness was unaware of His Mission.

He was therefore ruthlessly drawn into the whirlpools, which led Him through everything that was wrong among men. Not just to everything, for that would not have sufficed; but He had to become personally involved in everything, so that amid this horrible entanglement He would recognise all the evils one by one, and through His own suffering find a way which would offer human beings a possibility of escaping from those dreadful clutches.

He was obliged first to walk the road of salvation personally, thereby blazing the way for mankind, every single one, in order thereafter to show them in the Word how they can struggle free from all these evils.

For this reason He could be spared nothing, because He had to become familiar with everything that oppresses and harasses human beings, and drags them back from the Light!

Thus, every earthly evil was put in His way so that He should first of all overcome it through His own suffering; in overcoming it at the same time tear it out by the roots and crush it underfoot, and prepare the paths which would lead men forth towards the Light.

As He thus suffered among mankind and through mankind, He had to wrench this same mankind free from all the things they were using against Him, by recognising the evil and being the first to walk the road of redemption from it. With Parsifal’s recognition of each evil its power was already broken, and the foundation laid towards help for the humanity standing and sinking in it.

That was the greatest and the hardest sacrifice that He made for men on earth, and yet, ironically enough, it is just because of this period on earth that men, from out of the Darkness, seek to reproach Him! It is just this hardest part of His mission which He fulfilled through His own suffering for the sake of men, which they want to make use of to drag Him down and defile Him in the most disgusting way.

Just all that He suffered for them in order out of His own experiences really to help them at the appointed hour with His counsel, which had to be born of experience, just all this was again and again most basely used by the willing tools of the Darkness to discredit Him, so that others would be kept or turned aside from the road of salvation, by seeking to undermine their trust and faith in the Saviour and His Mission. Indeed, you have witnessed some of this for yourselves.

Try to imagine what it means, what it is, to have to learn within a few decades to recognise through your own experiences all the human faults and weaknesses on earth! Try to imagine the situations that arise when all the consequences of men’s false and distorted conceptions have to be fully experienced, in order to find out how to break free from them, and then to express this to mankind in a form of the Word suitable for it, because they would have been utterly unable once more to attain it of themselves.

And try to imagine how it feels to be reviled for these very things by the evil-minded. It is no different from how the Son of God, Jesus, once felt when He was accused of blasphemy and rebellion, and was crucified – He Who Himself was in God, and God also in Him! Who had already suffered enough for the sake of mankind, Who had come only for their sake, to bring help in the Word before it was too late!

Had not Parsifal taken this suffering upon Himself in order to bring help to the fallen and erring mankind by finding the saving form for the Holy Word, which men need in their affliction, so that they can once again tread the path to the Luminous Height, they could never have celebrated the true Pentecost in gratitude after the Holy Judgment, which will soon overtake the earth in order to balance all the old in the Justice of the Lord!

Therefore give thanks to the Creator, your God, for once more graciously stretching out His Hand to you so that you did not need to be lost! Rejoice in His Power which He has again bestowed upon you, and live gratefully in His Honour according to the Word! For in the Word I give you the way, the nourishment, and the strength, and with It you have everything that you need for your existence and for your ascent!
